Functional Bodybuilding

Our Functional Bodybuilding class focuses on movement quality to develop motor control, strength, and hypertrophy. We will use bodybuilding principles like supersets, tempos, drop sets, and periodization in conjunction with functional movements to build muscle mass and create a mind-muscle connection.

Olympic Weightlifting

Otherwise known as Weightlifting is based on two movements, the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch; both are very explosive movements as they require a combination of maximal strength and maximal speed. This class focuses on the fundamentals of Weightlifting. These exercises and their variations are an effective method for enhancing athletic performance.


Powerlifting is based on three movements, the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. We have a competitive team of powerlifters here in Boyneside, ranging from beginner to elite. We have a long history in Irish powerlifting, competing nationally and internationally for many years. New members are always welcome to join. With a wide range of ages, powerlifting is a sport for everyone.


At Boyneside, we consider Gymnastics to be any exercise in which you move your body through a full range of motion without an external load. For example, this class could include a person trying to get their first push up or pull up and a person learning to walk on their hands or do a muscle-up. Our experienced coaches have you covered no matter what level you are.


CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone - people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years. CrossFit is the core program here at Boyneside.
